The Traitors Season 2 has made a strong global debut on Prime Video, emerging as the streaming service’s No. 1 non-English title worldwide during its launch week. Hosted and produced by Karan Johar, the second season premiered on 13 August 2026 and brings together 21 celebrity Players for another game of trust, deception, strategy and betrayal.
According to Prime Video, the reality series also ranked among the Top 10 Prime Original series worldwide following its Season 2 premiere. New episodes of The Traitors are released every Thursday exclusively on Prime Video.

The Traitors Season 2 Tops Prime Video’s Non-English Titles
Prime Video announced that The Traitors Season 2 became its No. 1 non-English title worldwide in its launch week.
The series also entered the Top 10 Prime Original series worldwide following its 13 August premiere.
The performance comes after the release of the first three episodes, with the battle between the Innocents and Traitors once again forming the centre of the reality competition.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video (SVOD) and Amazon MGM Studios India, said the response to the second season had been phenomenal, highlighting the conversations, theories and support for individual Players generated among audiences.
Karan Johar Returns with More Dhokha
Karan Johar returns as the host and producer of The Traitors Season 2.
Reacting to the reception of the opening episodes, Karan Johar said viewers appeared to be enjoying the show’s dhokha, with considerably more paranoia, plotting and betrayal still to come.
The unpredictable nature of the competition remains one of its central attractions. Every elimination has the potential to overturn theories formed by both the Players and viewers watching the game.
How Does The Traitors Work?
The Traitors is built around two groups operating within the same competition — Traitors and Innocents.
Traitors are secretly selected from among the Players. Their objective is to remain undetected while deceiving the other participants.
The Innocents, meanwhile, must identify and expose the Traitors before they themselves are eliminated.
As the competition progresses, suspicions grow, alliances change and accusations can have significant consequences. Trusting the wrong Player can completely change the direction of the game.

Suryagarh Palace Becomes the Battleground
The second season unfolds against the backdrop of Suryagarh Palace, where the 21 Players enter a competition in which appearances and friendships cannot always be trusted.
The location provides the setting for secret strategies, changing alliances, confrontations and eliminations as the Innocents attempt to uncover the hidden Traitors.
Each round adds another layer of uncertainty because the Traitors must continue deceiving the group while avoiding suspicion themselves.
Global Format Returns for Season 2
Prime Video has collaborated with independent distributor All3Media International for the Indian adaptation of IDTV’s BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning global format.
The Indian version is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment.
