Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu Reunite in Maareesan
One of the major attractions of Maareesan is the reunion of Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil. The actors previously appeared together in Maamannan, and their performances and on-screen combination became one of the highlights of that film.
Maareesan brings them together in a different setting. The story unfolds as a rural travel thriller, offering the actors another opportunity to explore contrasting characters and performances.
The story, screenplay and dialogues are written by V. Krishnamurthy, who also serves as the creative director of the film.

Nethu Oruthara Song Reused in Maareesan
Maareesan also features an interesting musical connection with composer Ilaiyaraaja. The song “Nethu Oruthara”, originally composed by Ilaiyaraaja for the 1990 Tamil film Puthu Paatu, was remastered and reused in Maareesan.
The new film’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, making the reuse of his father’s composition a notable musical element in Maareesan.
98th Film of Super Good Films
Maareesan marks another milestone for R. B. Choudary’s Super Good Films, with the movie being promoted as the banner’s 98th production.
E4 Experiments is associated with the project as creative producers, while AP International has acquired the global theatrical release rights.
The film also continues the association between director Sudheesh Shankar and Super Good Films. Sudheesh Shankar previously directed the Malayalam movie Villali Veeran, which was also produced by R. B. Choudary’s banner.
Maareesan Teaser
The promotional campaign for Maareesan received considerable attention following the release of its teaser. According to the promotional information released for the movie, the teaser crossed 40 lakh views, helping build anticipation for the theatrical release.
The subsequent release-date announcement confirmed that audiences would be able to watch Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil together again on the big screen from July 25.
