Gopika Anil Plays the Female Lead in Kabani
Gopika Anil plays the title character in Kabani. Hailing from Kozhikode, Gopika is also an Ayurveda doctor by profession and began appearing on screen as a child artist.
Malayalam audiences may remember her childhood appearance in the Mohanlal-starrer Balettan, where she played one of the daughters of Mohanlal’s character.
Kabani became an important television project for Gopika Anil before she gained wider popularity among family audiences through Asianet’s Santhwanam.
Actor and model Prem plays the male lead, marking an important television role in his career.

Zee Keralam’s New Shows
Around the launch of Kabani, Zee Keralam was expanding its schedule with several new programmes.
Boeing Boeing launched on March 4 with Sooraj and Deepan as anchors and was scheduled from Monday to Wednesday at 9:00 PM. Comedy Nights With Suraj was announced for Thursday and Friday at 9:00 PM from March 7.
Other programmes in the channel’s lineup included Adutha Bellodu Koodi and Swathi Nakshathram Chothi.
The channel was also preparing Pookkalam Varavayi, starring Mridula Vijay, while the Malayalam-dubbed version of Kumkum Bhagya, titled Sindhooram, was part of the weekday schedule.
Kabani Television Ratings
Kabani later became part of Zee Keralam’s regular fiction lineup. According to the historical BARC figures recorded in our earlier update, Kabani registered 1.27 points in Week 47, while Chembarathi led Zee Keralam’s serial chart with 3.04 points during that period.
These figures belong to that particular ratings week and should not be treated as the show’s overall or current television rating.

The serial is particularly notable today for featuring Gopika Anil before her later success as Anjali in Santhwanam, one of the roles that significantly increased her popularity among Malayalam television audiences.
