Maareesan, starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in the lead roles, was released in cinemas on 25 July. Directed by Sudheesh Shankar, the film brought the two actors together again after their performances in Maamannan, this time for a rural-set travelling thriller.

Produced by R. B. Choudary, Maareesan is the 98th film from the Super Good Films banner. V. Krishna Moorthy handled the story, screenplay and dialogues and also served as the film’s creative director.

Following its theatrical run, the film has moved to OTT, and Maareesan is now streaming on Netflix.

Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu Together Again

Maareesan marks the 98th movie produced by R. B. Choudary’s Super Good Films, adding another title to the long-running production company’s filmography.

The banner has produced movies across South Indian languages over the years. Super Good Films had earlier produced Villali Veeran in Malayalam, while Maareesan represents another collaboration with director Sudheesh Shankar.

E4 Experiments joined the project as creative producers, while AP International acquired the global theatrical release rights.

Maareesan Cast

Apart from Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, Maareesan features a sizeable supporting cast.

Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, P. L. Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbaiah, Krishna, Haritha and Telephone Raj are among the other actors appearing in the film.

The combination of experienced performers supports the film’s rural setting and thriller narrative.

Yuvan Shankar Raja Handles the Music

Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music for Maareesan, while Kalaiselvan Sivaji handled cinematography.

Sreejith Sarang worked as the editor, with Mahendran handling the art direction. A. S. Dinesh served as the PRO for the film.

The film’s promotional campaign also generated attention ahead of its theatrical release, with the teaser recording around 40 lakh views, according to the promotional information released for the movie.
