JioHotstar is adding another Malayalam original to its streaming lineup with Hotstar Specials Kappi Squad, which will premiere on October 15, 2026. The new Malayalam series stars Rinosh George, Anagha Ajith, Diya Deepan, Joel Joseph and Abhirami Dayanandan in prominent roles.
Created by Srikanth Mohan and directed by Belraj Kalarickal, Kappi Squad is being introduced as a new long-running Malayalam series. The project is produced by Rahul Riji Nair’s First Print Studios.
The October premiere also follows the recent arrival of Prince of Mollywood on JioHotstar, strengthening the platform’s Malayalam web series lineup.

October is shaping up as an active month for new movies and web series across streaming platforms.
Confirmed premieres already include Dupahiya Season 2 on Prime Video from October 1 and Ip Man: Kung Fu Legend on Lionsgate Play from October 2. Kappi Squad now joins the confirmed October schedule with its October 15 JioHotstar premiere.
Several prominent theatrical titles are also being watched for their digital release updates during the month, including Toxic, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Khalifa, I’m Game and Mandaadi.
Among them, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, is preparing for its streaming release on JioHotstar, although its exact OTT premiere date has not yet been announced.
