JioHotstar has announced its new Malayalam Hotstar Specials title, Prince of Mollywood, which will begin streaming on September 11, 2026. Dain Davis leads the cast of the series, which follows a supremely confident aspiring superstar determined to turn his biggest dream – cinema – into reality.
The announcement adds another Malayalam title to JioHotstar’s expanding entertainment line-up. The platform is also preparing to stream I, Nobody, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, from August 25, while it has secured the OTT rights to the Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju starrer Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.

Meet Mollywood’s Superstar-in-Waiting
Prince of Mollywood revolves around an aspiring star who possesses plenty of confidence and one overriding ambition – making it big in cinema.
JioHotstar introduces its central character as “Mollywood’s most confident superstar-in-waiting”, setting out to make his biggest dream of cinema come true.
The premise places the aspiring actor’s journey towards the film industry at the centre of the Hotstar Specials series.
Dain Davis leads the cast, alongside Shani Khader, Nirmal Palazhi, Harishma, Vidya Vijaykumar, Fukru and Aswin Vijayan.
The series will be available for streaming on JioHotstar from September 11.
Shani Khader Directs Prince of Mollywood
Shani Khader serves as the director, writer and creator of Prince of Mollywood, while Pixel Playground produces the project.
Kiran Joze handles the music, with Ratheesh Bhargav serving as co-director.
Kiran Maranalloor is the director of photography, while Arun K Supran handles second-unit cinematography. Shijith P Nair and Selmanul Parisi Aboobackar are the editors.
The sound design and final mix are handled by Shefin Mayan of Soundman, while Alvin Tomy of Richpalette is the colourist.
I, Nobody Streaming on JioHotstar from August 25
Ahead of Prince of Mollywood, another major Malayalam title is arriving on JioHotstar this week.
I, Nobody, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, will begin streaming on August 25, 2026. Directed by Nizam Basheer, the film will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

JioHotstar has also secured the OTT rights to Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, adding another major Malayalam movie to its upcoming streaming portfolio.
The Onam release stars Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju and is running in theatres following positive reviews.
