“Akhanda 2: Thandavam”, directed by Boyapathy Sreenu and starring Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead, has a new release date. The film will be released globally on December 12, 2025. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on December 5. The makers have officially announced that the film will begin its global release with premiere shows on December 11. “Akhanda 2: Thandavam“, the fourth film to feature the Boyapathy Sreenu – Nandamuri Balakrishna team, is a sequel to their previous film ‘Akhanda’. Produced by Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the banner 14 Reels Plus, the film is presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri. Samyuktha Menon plays the female lead in the film.
The trailer of the film had garnered a huge audience. The trailer and teasers of the film, as well as the previously released blasting roar video, show that the second part is made on a bigger canvas than the first part, with great action, drama and emotion. The songs of the film also received a good response on social media. The trailer of the film, which indicated that along with action and drama, storylines related to Sanatana Hindu Dharma are also part of the story line of the film, received a huge reception at the pan-India level.
The trailer and teaser also revealed that Nandamuri Balakrishna will be appearing in this film in two different getups. They show that his punchy dialogues and great action will be the highlight of the film. Balakrishna’s main character is portrayed as a strong Aghori monk with divine power in the film. Aadi Pinnisetti plays the villain in the film, which is being made as a pan-Indian film on a huge budget. Bollywood star Harshali Malhotra, Kabir Singh and Achyut Kumar are also in the star cast of the film. The film will be released globally in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
