Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, was released in theatres on 6 September 2014 as an Onam release. Sapthamashree Thaskaraha Movie Details

Sapthamashree Thaskaraha Review

At its core, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha tells the story of seven men brought together by circumstances, with their journey eventually developing into an unusual heist.

Rather than approaching the subject as a conventional serious crime thriller, the movie uses humour and character-driven situations. The interactions between its principal characters are a major part of the entertainment.

The initial response following its theatrical release was encouraging, with the film emerging as a simple, feel-good entertainer during the 2014 Onam season.

Prithviraj’s Krishnanunni anchors the story, but Sapthamashree Thaskaraha works as an ensemble film rather than depending entirely on a single protagonist.

Seven Thieves and Main Characters

The principal characters include Krishnanunni, Shabab, Nobilettan, Salam, Leaf Vasu, Marti and Narayanan Kutti.

The wider cast includes Reenu Mathews, Sanusha, Neeraj Madhav and Flower Battsetseg.

Cast and Crew

Sapthamashree Thaskaraha was produced by Santosh Sivan, Shaji Nadesan and Prithviraj Sukumaran under the August Cinema banner.

For Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, the movie followed his acclaimed directorial debut North 24 Kaatham. With his second film, the filmmaker moved into a different space by combining a robbery story with comedy and an ensemble of distinctive characters.

Sapthamashree Thaskaraha Satellite Rights

Surya TV acquired the satellite rights of Sapthamashree Thaskaraha. The acquisition added the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer to the channel’s Malayalam movie catalogue.

The film is now also available digitally through Sun NXT, allowing viewers to revisit the Malayalam heist comedy online.

The film has gained fresh relevance with the arrival of another Prithviraj Sukumaran movie connected to a robbery storyline — I, Nobody.

From Sapthamashree Thaskaraha to I, Nobody

More than a decade after Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, Prithviraj Sukumaran is once again associated with a Malayalam story involving a major robbery.

I, Nobody starts streaming on JioHotstar from 25 August 2026 as part of the This Week OTT Release line-up. Directed by Nizam Basheer, the movie stars Prithviraj as Rajeevan, an ordinary government employee whose life changes after witnessing a bank robbery. Parvathy Thiruvothu plays his wife, Meera.

For viewers exploring Malayalam money heist and robbery movies on OTT, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha remains one of the more entertaining choices, combining its heist premise with comedy, friendship and an ensemble cast.
