Melissa, played by Rukmini Vasanth, who embodies beauty, confidence and toughness at the same time, gives new energy to the story universe of Toxic. Toxic, which is being prepared under the direction of Yash and with a different cinematic vision by director Geethu Mohandas, will hit theaters worldwide on March 19. After the release of the first looks of Kiara Advani (Nadia), Huma Qureshi (Elizabeth), Nayanthara (Ganga) and Tara Sutaria (Rebecca), the arrival of Rukmini Vasanth as Melissa further deepens the world of Toxic. Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners of K.V.N. Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is a film that every audience and fan is waiting for a big update of the film on January 8, on the occasion of Yash’s birthday.

Set in a colorful, dimly lit party scene set in the late 1960s, the poster shows Melissa standing with a fierce and determined gaze amidst the festive chaos around her. Here’s what director Geethu Mohandas had to say about Rukmini Vasanth. “What I love most about Rukmini is her intelligence as an actress. She doesn’t just act; she thinks and processes deeply. Her questions come from curiosity, not doubt. It makes me think more deeply as a director—sometimes even to reexamine my own decisions. I feel time and again when I watch her that the intelligence on screen often lies in what is not said. I often see her calmly jotting down notes in her journal between shots—little experiences and thoughts from the set. She is creating a world within herself. Her approach is very thoughtful; sometimes I feel like reading those notes.”
Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas herself, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. Dubbed versions in several languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam are also being released simultaneously. The film has a strong technical team behind it, with National Award winner Rajeev Ravi handling the cinematography. Music is by Ravi Basrur, editing by Ujjwal Kulkarni, and production design by T.P. Abid. The high-octane action sequences are crafted by Hollywood action director J.J. Perry (John Wicks) along with National Award winners Anbari and Kecha Khamfaakdi.
