Mookuthi Amman Streaming Now on JioHotstar – Watch the First Film
While audiences await the sequel’s theatrical and digital releases, the original Mookuthi Amman is already streaming on JioHotstar.
The first film marked the directorial debut of RJ Balaji, who also played a leading role alongside Nayanthara. N. J. Saravanan served as co-director, while Ishari K. Ganesh produced the devotional comedy.
The supporting cast includes Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee and Ajay Ghosh.
The original film combined divine intervention, social commentary, humour and family-oriented storytelling, establishing the franchise’s identity.
With JioHotstar also securing the sequel’s digital rights, viewers will have access to both instalments through the same streaming platform once Mookuthi Amman 2 completes its theatrical window and receives a digital premiere date.
JioHotstar Latest Updates – Ramayana: Part One Gets Pay-Per-View Deal
Another significant addition to JioHotstar’s upcoming movie portfolio is Ramayana: Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra.
The mythological epic, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 5 November 2026, including IMAX 3D screenings.
JioHotstar and Prime Focus Studios have announced a digital distribution partnership under which the film will become available in India through a separate pay-per-view purchase option after its exclusive theatrical run.
Unlike a conventional subscription-based premiere, the announced arrangement requires viewers to purchase digital access separately. The streaming date and purchase price have not yet been disclosed.
This arrangement is distinct from the announced digital rights acquisition for Mookuthi Amman 2. No separate pay-per-view model has been announced for Nayanthara’s film.
