Khalifa Streaming on manoramaMAX from October 9
manoramaMAX has added Khalifa to its streaming lineup with an October 9 release date. This gives Malayalam audiences an official digital destination to watch the Prithviraj Sukumaran action entertainer following its theatrical run.
The digital rollout extends beyond manoramaMAX. Khalifa is scheduled for Prime Video in India, while Simply South will stream the film worldwide excluding India.
The supplied OTT announcement also lists aha for Tamil and Telugu audiences and STARZPLAY for the MENA region. Lionsgate Play is another platform carrying the film, with Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi indicated in its streaming announcement.
Prithviraj Sukumaran as Mambarakkal Aamir Ali
Khalifa places Prithviraj Sukumaran firmly at the centre of its mass-action world as Mambarakkal Aamir Ali.
The film combines Prithviraj’s mass avatar with Vysakh’s commercial treatment, elaborate action sequences, punch dialogues and a story revolving around family, betrayal and the legacy of the Mambarakkal family.
A distinctive look was created for Aamir Ali, complementing the character’s action-oriented presentation.
Jakes Bejoy’s music, Jomon T. John’s cinematography and Chaman Chakko‘s editing contribute to the scale and energy of the film.
Mohanlal as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali
One of Khalifa’s major attractions is Mohanlal’s special appearance as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali.
His character is closely connected to the history of the Mambarakkal family, which forms an important part of the story surrounding Aamir Ali.
The presence of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal adds further interest to the movie as it prepares for its multi-platform OTT release on October 9.
Khalifa Story
The film opens with a dramatic incident involving Aamir Ali and his close companion Samad.
Shortly after his sister’s wedding, Aamir turns Samad over to Customs. While in Customs custody, Samad begins narrating Aamir Ali’s story, taking the narrative into the history of the Mambarakkal family.
The story traces the descendants of Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali and their association with the world of gold smuggling.
Ahmed Ali’s son last sees his father when he is sixteen and subsequently decides that he will never become involved in gold smuggling. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is punished for an offence he did not commit, forcing him towards the very world he had tried to avoid.
From this family history emerges Aamir Ali and his battle to protect his family while settling the accounts of the past.
Khalifa Cast
Along with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal, Khalifa features Malavika Sharma, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Renji Panicker, Sanju Sivram, Shivajith, Indrans, Shammi Thilakan, Shine Varghese, Anand Manmadhan, Don Michael, Mohini, Kyraa and Master Nafash.
The movie also marks the Malayalam cinema appearances of Malavika Sharma and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

For Kerala and Malayalam audiences, manoramaMAX is one of the key streaming destinations, while Prime Video carries the film in India. Simply South, aha, STARZPLAY and Lionsgate Play extend its digital availability to other languages and territories.
The multi-platform strategy allows the Prithviraj Sukumaran film to reach audiences across different markets following its theatrical release.
