71st National Film Awards Winners – GV Prakash bags Best Music Composer for Vaathi
GV Prakash Kumar expresses gratitude for winning National Award
When the 71st National Film Awards were announced, Tamil music director GV Prakash Kumar won the award for Best Music Director. GV Prakash Kumar won the award for the songs in the film “Vaathi” directed by Telugu director Venky Atluri and starring Dhanush. This is the second time he has won the National Award. A few years ago, he had also won the National Award for composing background music for the film “Soorarai Pottru” starring Suriya.
On winning the award, he thanked everyone who worked with the film “Vaathi”. Dhanush, who suggested him for this film, director Venky Atluri who chose him for it, the producers of the film Naga Vamsi and Thiruvikram, the singers who sang the songs in the film, the lyricists, his sound engineer Josan and everyone who worked in the music department.
“Vaathi”, produced by Sithara Entertainment, Fortune Four Cinemas and Sreekara Studios, was made in Tamil and Telugu. The film was released in Telugu under the title “Sir”. All the songs in the film, which was a huge success, were loved by the audience.
