Sundar C Reveals 3,000 CGI Shots and Extensive Visual Effects Work
One of the major revelations at the Chennai pre-release event concerned the film’s extensive visual effects.
Director Sundar C revealed that approximately 400 technicians worked for nearly one and a half years to complete the CGI work.
According to the filmmaker, more than 3,000 shots feature CGI, reflecting the production’s emphasis on creating a large-scale fantasy experience.
He also clarified that artificial intelligence was used in only 15 shots.
These details highlight the considerable technical work involved in bringing the world of Mahasakthi to the screen.
Mookuthi Amman 2 Features a Completely Different Story
Sundar C also addressed the connection between the original Mookuthi Amman and the second instalment.
According to the director, only four elements are common to both films: the movie title, producer Ishari K. Ganesh, Nayanthara and Urvashi.
He emphasised that the storyline of the second film is entirely different from that of its predecessor.
The director’s comments indicate that audiences can expect a fresh narrative rather than a direct repetition of the first film’s story.
Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi Reveals Two Surprise Stars
Music director Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi shared another interesting detail during the pre-release event.
He revealed that two surprise actors appear in the film, but their identities have been kept undisclosed so audiences can discover them in theatres.
The composer also described the challenges of creating music for the film’s approximately 20-minute climax sequence.
While Sundar C’s films are generally known for their songs, Mookuthi Amman 2 features only one song presented directly within the narrative. The remaining musical numbers appear as montage tracks.
Urvashi and Khushbu Praise the Family Entertainment Elements
Actress Urvashi described the film as a combination of spectacular VFX, CGI sequences, family emotions, humour and entertainment.
She also indicated that Regina Cassandra’s character would be a major surprise for audiences.
Khushbu praised Sundar C‘s presentation of the film as a family entertainer and highlighted Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi’s music and the performances.
Speaking about Nayanthara, Khushbu appreciated the actress’s dedication and professionalism in portraying Mookuthi Amman.
The cast and crew expressed confidence that the film would offer an enjoyable theatrical experience for families during the festive season.
Mookuthi Amman 2 Kerala Release and JioHotstar OTT Rights
Bhavana Release will distribute Mookuthi Amman 2 – Mahasakthi in Kerala when the film opens worldwide on November 6, 2026.
The film’s digital streaming rights have been acquired by JioHotstar, while Star Vijay TV holds the satellite television rights. However, the official OTT premiere date has not yet been announced.
With large-scale visual effects, a fresh storyline, surprise appearances and a family-oriented entertainment approach, Mookuthi Amman 2 – Mahasakthi is preparing for its worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026.
