Tamil superstar Suriya has made a sensational comeback with Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. After overcoming several release hurdles, the film finally hit theatres worldwide and is already emerging as one of the biggest theatrical successes of the year.
Even without strong pre-release advance bookings, Karuppu managed to create an extraordinary opening day response. According to early trade estimates, the movie sold more than 6.71 lakh tickets on BookMyShow alone during its first day, indicating the massive fan support for Suriya’s return to the big screen.
The film opened to packed houses across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and overseas markets. Several theatres added late-night special screenings due to heavy demand, while many centres reported housefull shows throughout the day.
Recently, Kerala TV reported the grand theatrical trailer launch of Karuppu, which generated tremendous buzz among audiences before release. Young music sensation Sai Abhyankkar has delivered one of the strongest musical albums of the year through Karuppu. Both songs and background score are getting thunderous applause inside theatres.
