The makers of Balan – The Boy, the upcoming film directed by Chidambaram after the blockbuster success of Manjummel Boys, have released the movie’s second song titled “Engotta…”. The track is already drawing attention for its soulful composition and heartfelt rendition by Sushin Shyam, who has both composed and sung the song. The lyrics are penned by acclaimed poet and lyricist Anwar Ali.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on June 19, Balan – The Boy will arrive in cinemas across Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. The film features Farzana Palathingal, Adiseshan, Muhammad Sinan, Dolly June, Jean Paul Lal, Girish A.D., and Beena Antony in key roles. Popular actor Tovino Thomas also appears in an important character.
Produced by KVN Productions in association with Thespian Films, the film recently opened advance bookings. The first song from the movie, “Thaakkol,” received an excellent response from audiences and continues to trend across music platforms. Sushin Shyam’s involvement has become one of the major factors behind the growing anticipation surrounding the film.
The screenplay for Balan – The Boy is written by Jithu Madhavan, best known for directing the blockbuster film Aavesham. The film was also screened at the Marché du Film market during the Cannes Film Festival, where it reportedly received positive feedback from international viewers.
The recently released trailer hints at a story centered on identity, survival, and self-discovery, wrapped in a suspenseful and thrilling narrative.
