The fully colorized and restored version of the classic horror film Night of the Living Dead is now streaming on BookMyShow Stream, where audiences can buy or rent the film.
The project has been carried out by Casablanca Film Factory, an Indian production company, which has digitally restored and colorized the 1968 cult classic while preserving its original tone and haunting atmosphere. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time an Indian company has produced a colorized restored edition of the film.
Directed by George A. Romero, Night of the Living Dead is widely regarded as a landmark in horror cinema and a defining film in the zombie genre. Since its original release, the film has influenced generations of filmmakers and continues to hold a strong legacy in world cinema.
The restored version retains the iconic performances of Duane Jones, Judith O’Dea, Karl Hardman, Marilyn Eastman, Keith Wayne, Judith Ridley, Kyra Schon, Charles Craig, and Bill Cardille, whose contributions remain memorable among cinema audiences.
According to Nirmal Baby Varghese, Founder and CEO of Casablanca Film Factory, plans are underway to restore and release more Hollywood classic films in the near future.
