Major Malayalam OTT Releases of 2024

Several notable Malayalam films moved to streaming platforms during 2024. Turbo, starring Mammootty, arrived on SonyLIV in August, while Malayalee From India became one of the major July releases with streaming beginning on SonyLIV from 5 July.

Aavesham started streaming on Prime Video on 9 May. April included the digital arrival of Premalu on Disney+ Hotstar from 12 April, along with Manjummel Boys among the month’s prominent Malayalam OTT titles.

March brought Bramayugam, with SonyLIV announcing its online streaming from 15 March. The Mammootty starrer was one of the notable Malayalam digital releases during the month.

Malayalam OTT Releases – February 2024

February featured several Malayalam movies arriving on digital platforms. Queen Elizabeth, starring Meera Jasmine and Narain, started streaming on ZEE5 on 14 February.

Oh My Darling arrived on ManoramaMAX on 2 February, while Thaaram Theertha Koodaram was scheduled on ManoramaMAX from 9 February.

Malaikottai Vaaliban was another major title followed by Malayalam OTT audiences, with its digital rights held by Disney+ Hotstar and satellite rights with Asianet.

January 2024 Malayalam OTT Releases

January opened with several important streaming premieres. Tholvi F.C. became the first Malayalam movie listed here to begin streaming on Prime Video in 2024, arriving on 3 January.

Kaathal – The Core started streaming on Prime Video on 5 January. The film was followed by Antony, starring Joju George, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Nyla Usha, with its Prime Video streaming date listed as 12 January.

Neru, starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on 23 January.

ManoramaMAX also added Philip’s to its streaming line-up.

Malayalam Web Series Released on OTT

Movies were not the only Malayalam titles arriving online during 2024. Streaming platforms continued to expand their Malayalam web-series catalogues.

Perilloor Premier League was the third original Malayalam web series on Disney+ Hotstar and started streaming on 5 January 2024.

Independent platforms were also part of the Malayalam digital space, with Hodu, starring Roopesh Peethambaran, Harikrishnan Sanu, Visakh and Sarath Vadi, released through iStream.
