National Award-winning filmmaker Sajin Babu has unveiled the first look poster of his upcoming Malayalam film Tharkkam. Written and directed by Sajin Babu, the film is produced by Anoop Kutty and Sajin Babu under the banners of P.W.L.O Entertainments and Sajin Babu Productions.
Positioned as a realistic thriller, Tharkkam explores the ideological clash between a police officer who continues to justify caste-based feudal supremacy and a young man named Surjith, who is deeply influenced by the progressive thoughts of B. R. Ambedkar. The film revolves around the intense confrontations and conflicts that emerge between these two contrasting worldviews.
The makers have given prominence to fresh talent, with newcomers playing key roles in the film. According to the production team, the climax sequences were filmed using seven cameras simultaneously under the supervision of four cinematographers, aiming to deliver a visually immersive experience.
The film is set against the backdrop of the famous Bharani celebrations at Kodungallur Sree Mahadevi Temple. Principal photography has already been completed, and the project is now moving into the next stages of post-production.
