The teaser released on Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday had become trending. The film Kaantha, written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, is produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films and Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. Dulquer Salmaan, Jom Varghese, Rana Daggubati and Prashanth Potluri are the producers of the film. Selvamani Selvaraj is a Tamil director who gained attention for his Netflix documentary series ‘The Hunt for Veerappan’.
The film tells the story of a big problem that occurs between two great artists. The film travels through love, ego, art, and emotion. Kaantha’s story is presented in the backdrop of Madras in the 1950s.
‘Kaantha’ is also the first foreign language film produced by Wayfarer Films, which has produced a handful of excellent films in Malayalam. This film, made in Tamil, will also be released in Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi languages. “Kantha” is also the film in which Dulquer Salmaan will play the lead role after the blockbuster Telugu film Lucky Bhaskar.
