Adoor Gopalakrishnan with the “Padayaatra ” team honoring Padma Bhushan Mammootty

Padma Bhushan Mammootty was honored on the sets of the film “Padayaatra “, which reunites him with Adoor Gopalakrishnan after 32 years. After winning the award, director Adoor Gopalakrishnan received Mammootty on the set and honored him with a gold medal. Later, the entire cast of the film shared this joy by cutting a cake. Apart from Mammootty, actress Grace Antony and actor Indrans, who play other important roles in the film, were also part of the celebration. Mammootty is only the fourth star from Malayalam to achieve this feat.

The shooting of Padayatra, which is being prepared as the eighth production venture of Mammootty’s company, is currently in progress. The story, screenplay and dialogues of the film were written by Adoor Gopalakrishnan and KV Mohankumar. The film will be released in Kerala by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. This is also the Mammootty-Adoor Gopalakrishnan team-up after the films Anantharam, Mathilukal and Vidheyan. Mammootty has also won 2 National Awards for Best Actor for the films Mathilukal and Vidheyan directed by Adoor.
