Transgender Acted, Banned in Saudi Arabia – Maranamass Release Updates

The film Maranamass, starring Basil Joseph, has been banned in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The film’s release was banned because it features a transgender person in the cast. However, the crew has informed that they are releasing the film in Kuwait without cutting out their parts.

“To the audience watching Maranamass in Kuwait – According to the censor laws in Kuwait, some scenes in the first half and second half of the film had to be cut and deleted… I hope the edited scenes will not affect the complete enjoyment of the film. Everyone, watch it in theaters.” The Maranamass team posted on social media.

The trailer gives an indication that the film starring Basil Joseph is set to be in the dark comedy thriller genre. Siju Sunny, who gained audience attention through the films Vazha and Guruvayurampala Nadayil, is writing the story of Maranamass.
