The festival, inaugurated by renowned director Blessy, featured the opening film “Panchavadipalam” directed by KG George. George’s daughter Tara George was also present at the function held on September 24, the death anniversary of KG George. Tara George handed over books from George’s book collection to MACTA Chairman Joshi Mathew.
The certificate of the National Award received for KG George’s first film Swapnadanam, which was kept at “MACTA”, was presented to Tara George at the function by Shibu Chakravarthy, a renowned lyricist and a prominent member of MACTA’s early workers. The function was presided over by Rev. Father Dr. Benny Nalkkara and was attended by ‘AMMA’ General Secretary Mrs. Kukku Parameswaran, Principal of Rajagiri College Animation and Graphic Design Department Mrs. Lali Mathew, Head of Department A. C. Renju, RCMAS Director Rev. Father Dr. Mathew Vattathara, MACTA General Secretary Sreekumar Arookutty, MACTA Treasurer Sajinlal, Joint Secretary Soni Sai, Executive Committee members Venu B. Nair, Babu Pallassery, A. S. Dinesh, Shaji Pattikkara, Directors Adam Ayub, K. J. Bose, Cameraman T. G. Sreekumar and others.
Invited members of MACTA are also participating in the three-day film festival where selected students from Rajagiri and other campuses will be delegates.
