The audio release of the movie “Krishnaashtami: the book of dry leaves” will be held on Sunday, September 21 at 4.30 pm at the Thrissur Regional Theater. Produced by Anil Ambalakkara under the banner of Ambalakkara Global Films and directed by Dr. Abhilash Babu, “Krishnaashtami: the book of dry leaves” is a modern-day cinematic reading of the poem Krishnashtami by Vailoppilly Sreedhara Menon, Saina Music is the distributor.

The movie, with music composed by Ouseppachan, has seven songs. In addition to Vailoppilly’s lyrics, the movie also has lyrics by Abhilash Babu. The singers are Ouseppachan, P. S. Vidyadharan, Jayaraj Warrier, Indulekha Warrier, Swarna, Amal Antony Charlie Bahrin. The movie will reach the audience soon after director Geo Baby arrives in the lead role.
‘Krishnaashtami’ is a poem included in the collection ‘Kadalkkakkakal’ by Vailoppilly Sreedhara Menon, published in 1958. Krishnashtami tells the story of the life of a few innocent people in prison who are victims of abuse of power. This has been given a visual language with some changes and additions according to the new times in ‘Krishnaashtami: the book of dry leaves’.
