Director Senna Hegde is back with his next Malayalam film titled Kola, featuring a lineup dominated by newcomers and young talents. The title poster of the film has been released, introducing another rooted story from the filmmaker known for Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, 1744 White Alto, Padmini and Avihitham.
Kola is produced by Harris Desom and P.B. Aneesh under the banner of Imagine Cinemas, following their successful film Vaazha 2. The new project marks Senna Hegde’s next directorial venture after Avihitham.

Kola Brings New Faces to Malayalam Cinema

Senna Hegde Returns After Avihitham
Kola is Senna Hegde’s next film after Avihitham, continuing a Malayalam filmography that has frequently explored ordinary people, relationships and situations through distinctive characters.
His Malayalam directorial journey began with Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, a film that brought him significant recognition.
The movie featured Manoj K. U., Ajisha Prabhakaran, Anagha Narayanan, Unnimaya Nalappadam, Sunil Surya, Arpith P. R., Ranji Kankol and Arjun Preet.
Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam won the Best Feature Film in Malayalam award at the 68th National Film Awards. The film is also available for digital streaming on SonyLIV.
1744 White Alto
Senna Hegde followed with 1744 White Alto, featuring Sharaf U Dheen, Rajesh Madhavan and Vincy Aloshious in the lead roles.
The film continued the director’s interest in unusual situations and characters while presenting its narrative with humour and a distinctive visual treatment.
Unlike some of his other Malayalam films, 1744 White Alto has not yet been added to a streaming platform.
Padmini Streaming on Netflix
Senna Hegde later directed Padmini, featuring Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian and Vincy Aloshious in the lead roles.
The film explored relationships and marriage through its central characters while retaining the director’s characteristic humour.
Following its theatrical release, Padmini arrived on Netflix for digital streaming.
Avihitham Before Kola
Senna Hegde’s previous film before Kola was Avihitham.
The cast includes Unni Raj, Renji Kankol, Vineeth Chakyar, Dhanesh Koliyat, Rakesh Ushar and Vrinda Menon. The film is available for streaming on JioHotstar.
With Kola following Avihitham, Senna Hegde is once again working with a cast that gives significant space to emerging and relatively new performers.
