Known for crafting fresh visual textures and distinctive themes for his films, director Senna Hegde’s latest feature “Avihitham” will begin streaming on JioHotstar from November 14. Produced under the banners E4 Experiments, Imagin Cinemas and Marley State of Mind, the film is backed by Mukesh R Mehta, Harris Desom, P. B. Anish, C. V. Sarathi and Senna Hegde. The story of Avihitham is written by Ambareesh Kalathera.
Unniraj Cheruvathoor and Ranjith Kankol play the central characters, with Vineeth Chakyar, Dhanesh Koliyat, Vrinda Menon, Ajith Punnad, Unnikrishnan Parappa, Aneesh Chemmarathi and many fresh faces also part of the ensemble cast.
Avihitham is a film that sharply exposes the hypocritical moral codes of society. Set against the rustic, small-town backdrop of Kanhangad, the narrative is filled with humour and warmth even as it prompts viewers to think deeply about judgement, voyeurism and so-called “decency”. The film will make you laugh, reflect and recognise people you know in its colourful characters.
Cinematography is by Sreeraj Raveendran and Ramesh Mathews, while Sanath Sivaraj handles the editing. The music is composed by Sreerag Saji.
