Story of Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat – Revolutionary or Dacoit?
Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat draws inspiration from the life of Ananta Lal Singh, a revolutionary associated with the historic Chittagong Armoury Raid.
Ananta was a close associate of Master-da Surya Sen, one of the prominent leaders of the revolutionary movement against British colonial rule.
The film explores Ananta’s revolutionary past before shifting its focus to the years following India’s independence.
Set partly against the backdrop of 1960s Kolkata, the narrative follows a series of daring robberies that attract the attention of the police.
As investigators begin examining the incidents, questions emerge about Ananta Lal Singh’s identity and his place in history.
Was he a revolutionary continuing his struggle against injustice, or had he become a dacoit operating outside the law?
This central conflict forms the foundation of the film.
The story also examines Ananta’s changing relationship with the political and social systems of independent India, particularly his belief that ordinary people continued to face injustice despite the country’s freedom.
Rather than concentrating exclusively on revolutionary activities during British rule, the film attempts to explore the contradictions and challenges surrounding Ananta’s later life.

However, the film also explores the events that contributed to his controversial reputation in post-Independence India.
