The upcoming Malayalam pan-Indian action thriller “Kaattalan” has secured the top position in IMDb’s list of the Most Anticipated Indian Movies of 2026. The film is also the only Malayalam movie to feature in the Top 10 list, which is prepared based on real-time audience popularity and engagement.
Produced by Sharif Mohammed under the banner of Cubes Entertainments, Kaattalan is gearing up for a massive worldwide theatrical release on May 28, 2026. Directed by debutant Paul George, the movie is expected to become one of the biggest pan-Indian releases in Malayalam cinema history.
The film comes after the success of Cubes Entertainments’ blockbuster action thriller Marco. Recently, reports also hinted at a possible connection between Marco and Kaattalan, especially after the reveal of Siddique’s character poster. Antony Varghese Leads the Mega Action Entertainer

The trailer of Kaattalan had earlier impressed audiences with its large-scale action sequences and visually rich presentation. The promotional song released from the film also became viral across social media platforms.
Massive Star Cast and Pan-Indian Appeal
The movie features a huge ensemble cast led by Dushara Vijayan as the female lead. Telugu actor Sunil, known for Pushpa and Jailer, plays an important role in the film alongside Kabir Duhan Singh, who became popular among Malayalam audiences through Marco.

International-Level Action Sequences
One of the major highlights of Kaattalan is expected to be its large-scale action choreography. The action scenes were designed in Thailand under the leadership of internationally acclaimed stunt choreographer Kecha Khamphakdee, best known for the Ong-Bak series.
Interestingly, the famous elephant “Pong” from the Ong-Bak films is also part of Kaattalan. The makers promise that the film will deliver visuals, action, and cinematic scale comparable to international action blockbusters.
Ravi Basrur Returns to Malayalam Cinema
The music for Kaattalan is composed by Ravi Basrur, the composer behind blockbuster franchises like K.G.F and Salaar. Additional songs are composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.
The screenplay is jointly written by Joby Varghese, Paul George, and Jero Jacob, while dialogues are penned by Unni R..

The Karnataka distribution rights are acquired by Hombale Films, while the Hindi theatrical rights are with J Veil (Jai Viratra Entertainment Limited). The music rights are owned by T-Series, and Shemaroo has secured the digital and satellite rights.
The overseas distribution is being handled by Phars Films, making Kaattalan one of the biggest overseas Malayalam releases ever planned.
