Heavyweight Hype Builds as Mohanlal Takes the First Ticket and Chatha Pacha Storms Into Bookings
Chatha Pacha The Ring of Rowdies in Cinemas from 22 January 2026
When the buzz was already strong around one Big M of the industry, Actor Mammootty, being part of the film, the team behind Chatha Pacha dropped yet another surprise. As advance bookings opened, the other Big M , Actor Mohanlal, stepped in to take the very first ticket for the film.

In a video shared by the team on social media, Mohanlal takes the first ticket as bookings are open, and subtly mentions that his “friend” is also a part of Chatha Pacha. For audiences and the industry alike, the meaning is clear. The video instantly struck a chord, celebrating a bond that Malayalam cinema has always been cherishing. The video travelled far and wide, adding a fresh wave of excitement and pushing the film’s already soaring buzz even higher.
With this, Chatha Pacha comes into even sharper focus, intensifying anticipation ahead of its theatrical release on January 22. Momentum continues to build steadily, and the film is now firmly positioned as one of the most keenly awaited Malayalam releases of the season.
Backed by Creative Producer Shihan Shoukath and produced by Ritesh & Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan, and Shoukath Ali under the banner of Reel World Entertainment, Chatha Pacha is directed by debut filmmaker Adhvaith Nayar. The project brings together a vibrant ensemble cast including Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath, performers whose energy and presence align seamlessly with the film’s spirited tone, which is very evident from the teaser, trailer and the character posters.
Music has also emerged as one of Chatha Pacha’s biggest highlights. The three songs released so far are topping charts and dominating playlists, turning the soundtrack into a cultural talking point even before the film’s release.
Keeping the momentum high, the makers are now releasing the fourth song, just days ahead of the theatrical launch. Titled “Carnival”, the track is a high-energy celebration anthem that perfectly captures the vibrant, free-spirited pulse of Chatha Pacha. The song is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Pranavam Sasi, with an explosive rap segment by MC Couper. Lyrics are penned by Vinayak Sasikumar and MC Couper, making Carnival a fitting build-up to the film’s release. The film marks the first-ever Malayalam composition by the legendary trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy, a landmark moment that has drawn attention far beyond regional boundaries.
On the technical front, Chatha Pacha is powered by a group of young energetic and strong creative forces; with Anend C. Chandran’s cinematography, Praveen Prabhakar’s editing, Sanoop Thykkoodam’s screenplay, Mujeeb Majeed’s background score, Vinayak Sasikumar ‘s lyrics, Kalai Kingson’s action choreography collectively elevating the film’s scale, rhythm, and energy. Music rights are bagged by Indian musical giant T Series.
Strengthening its reach is a formidable distribution lineup. Chatha Pacha will be released in Kerala through Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films on its home ground, while Mythri Movie Makers, the powerhouse behind Pushpa, will handle Telangana and Hyderabad. PVR INOX Pictures will oversee Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Dharma Productions will lead the North Indian release, and Plot Pictures will manage the global rollout. The association of these major names signals not just pan-Indian presence, but also a strong promise of content quality.
With a top-notch trailer already setting expectations high, bookings now open, and excitement rising by the hour, January 22 is shaping up to be a high-voltage date at the cinemas. Mohanlal has taken the first ticket, and Chatha Pacha is fast becoming a film audiences are lining up to experience on the big screen.
