The much-loved Mohanlal and Meena film Chandrolsavam is returning to theatres in a newly remastered 4K version with Dolby Atmos sound. Ahead of the re-release, the makers have unveiled a special poster celebrating actress Meena on her birthday, revisiting her memorable character Indulekha from the 2005 Malayalam film.
The poster celebrates Indulekha as the unforgettable love of Chirakkal Sreehari, played by Mohanlal, bringing back memories of one of the film’s central relationships.

Meena’s Indulekha Celebrated With Special Chandrolsavam Poster
The special birthday poster pays tribute to Meena and her character Indulekha, whose relationship with Mohanlal’s Chirakkal Sreehari remains at the heart of Chandrolsavam.
The makers released the poster as a birthday tribute to Meena while preparing the film for its return to the big screen.
Mohanlal and Meena’s pairing has been familiar to generations of Malayalam cinema audiences, and Chandrolsavam presented them as Sreehari and Indulekha in an emotionally driven relationship shaped by love, separation and memories.
Chandrolsavam Originally Released in 2005
Produced by Santhosh Damodaran under the Damor Cinema banner, Chandrolsavam was written and directed by Ranjith. The movie originally arrived in theatres as a Vishu release on April 14, 2005.
Alongside the relationship between Sreehari and Indulekha, the film featured friendship, family connections and emotional conflicts.
Tamil actor Ranjith played Ramanunni, an important character in the story. The cast also includes Jagadish, Cochin Haneefa and Samvrutha Sunil, among others.
Chandrolsavam Returns in 4K and Dolby Atmos
The re-release provides an opportunity to experience Chandrolsavam again on the big screen with updated picture and sound presentation.
Hyzin Global Ventures is bringing Chandrolsavam back to theatres, while High Studios has handled the 4K remastering. The movie has also been prepared with Dolby Atmos sound for its new theatrical presentation.
The upgraded version aims to retain the atmosphere and visual identity of the original film while presenting it through current theatrical technology.
Vidyasagar and Gireesh Puthenchery Songs Return to Theatres
Music remains one of the memorable elements of Chandrolsavam. Vidyasagar composed the soundtrack, with lyrics written by Gireesh Puthenchery.
The romantic and emotional songs associated with Sreehari and Indulekha will now return to theatres with the remastered sound presentation.
For audiences who experienced the songs during the film’s original run and those discovering Chandrolsavam on the big screen for the first time, the 4K re-release brings the music and visuals together in a renewed theatrical format.

The film features Mohanlal, Meena, Ranjith, Jagadish, Cochin Haneefa and Samvrutha Sunil among its prominent cast members.
Rajashree Santhosh serves as executive producer, with Alagappan N handling cinematography and L. Bhoominathan editing. Suresh Kollam handled art direction, Anto Joseph served as production controller, P.V. Shankar handled makeup and Velayudhan Keezhillam worked on costumes.
The choreography is by Thyagarajan, while M. Padmakumar served as associate director.
For the remastered presentation, Abhimanyu Krishnan handles project management, Shan Ashif is the colourist, Arun C.S. is associate colourist and Hari Narayanan handles Atmos mixing. Marketing is handled by Karthik Z.R. and Jibin Joy, with titles by Sabari Shankar.
Chandrolsavam 4K Theatrical Re-Release
More than two decades after its original theatrical release, Chandrolsavam is being prepared for another big-screen run, bringing Chirakkal Sreehari and Indulekha back to theatres with 4K visuals and Dolby Atmos sound.
