The much-awaited trailer of SS Rajamouli’s Mahesh Babu film Varanasi has been released. Mahesh Babu will be seen in the role of Rudra in the film. The trailer of the film was released at a grand event held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The film, which stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran and others in the lead roles, is being produced by KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya under the banners of Sri Durga Arts and Showbiz. Keeravani is composing the music for Varanasi.

The trailer is trending worldwide with over five million views within hours.

The trailer of Varanasi, which will give the audience a visual treat, was screened on a specially set-up screen measuring 130×100 feet at an event held at Ramoji Film City. The trailer begins by showing Varanasi in 512 CE. Later, it shows an asteroid named Shambhavi, which is heading towards Earth in 2027.

The trailer then reveals the Rose Ice Shelf in Antarctica, the Amboseli forest in Africa, the city of Lanka in 7200 BCE, and the Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi. When Mahesh Babu‘s character Rudra, who is riding a bull with a trident in his hand, finally reached the screen, the audience of over sixty thousand spectators at the event blessed the venue with a roar of joy.
