The makers of Vijay Sethupathi and Puri Jagannadh’s pan-Indian film Slum Dog – 33 Temple Road have released a new character glimpse featuring Zarina Wahab. She plays Zubaida, the mother of Vijay Sethupathi’s character in the film.
Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film is produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects, along with J. B. Narayan Rao Kondrolla under J. B. Motion Pictures. Samyuktha plays the female lead.

Zarina Wahab as Zubaida
The latest glimpse introduces Zubaida through an emotional sequence that gives an indication of her difficult past and struggle for survival.
Zubaida recalls reaching a railway station with the intention of ending her life. However, when hunger becomes unbearable, circumstances force her to beg for food. The sequence focuses on the helplessness, dignity and survival instinct of a woman facing an extremely difficult phase in her life.
Zarina Wahab’s (Zarina Wahab) emotional performance is at the centre of the glimpse. Her portrayal of Zubaida’s pain and determination also provides an early indication of the emotional layer that will accompany the film’s action and mass elements.
Vijay Sethupathi also appears in the glimpse, further establishing the mother-son relationship as an important part of the story.
Tabu Plays Income Tax Deputy Commissioner Gauri Hegde
The makers had earlier introduced Tabu as Gauri Hegde, another important character in Slum Dog – 33 Temple Road.
Gauri Hegde is an Income Tax Deputy Commissioner, presented as a confident and determined officer who takes strong action against criminals. Her character glimpse offered a contrasting tone to Zubaida’s emotional introduction.
With the individual character glimpses, the makers are gradually revealing the different personalities and worlds that form part of the film’s story.
Vijay Sethupathi in a Mass and Stylish Role
The teaser of Slum Dog – 33 Temple Road had earlier presented Vijay Sethupathi in a mass and stylish avatar. The actor was shown both in the appearance of a visually impaired character and in a different look, generating curiosity about his role and the storyline.
The new Zubaida glimpse suggests that the film will balance Vijay Sethupathi’s mass-oriented sequences with strong emotional moments involving his character and family.
Slum Dog – 33 Temple Road Cast
Along with Vijay Sethupathi, Samyuktha, Tabu and Zarina Wahab, the film features Duniya Vijay Kumar in a significant role.
Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh are also part of the cast.

Pan-Indian Release in Five Languages
Slum Dog – 33 Temple Road is being prepared as a pan-Indian theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
Puri Jagannadh handles both writing and direction, while Sam K. Naidu is the cinematographer. Harshavardhan Rameshwar composes the music and Santhosh Nusila handles editing.
The VFX is supervised by Anil Paduri, Vishu Reddy serves as CEO, and Hashtag Media handles the film’s marketing.
Following the character glimpses of Tabu’s Gauri Hegde and Zarina Wahab’s Zubaida, the film continues to reveal more about its characters ahead of its pan-Indian theatrical release.
