‘Balti’, the 25th film by young actor Shane Nigam, has received great audience and critical acclaim, combining action, love, friendship, betrayal, conflict and revenge. ‘Balti’, set in the sports action genre, tells the story of four friends who are ready for anything and everything in a place called Velampalayam on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. ‘Balti’ is directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam. The film tells the story of the brave and determined young men of the Panchami Riders, who crush their opponents with lightning speed on and off the kabaddi court. Tamil star Shantanu Bhagyaraj is also in the film as the character of Panchami Riders’ Ellamellamaya Kumar with an impossible appearance. Noted Tamil director, screenwriter and actor Selvaraghavan is playing the antagonist character of Aarey Koosatha Bhairavan in ‘Balti’. This is also his first Malayalam film. It can be understood from the trailer that he is playing a shocking character in the film. Another star who is getting a surprising makeover in the film is Poornima Indrajith. The actor is going to surprise us with the character of Jee Maa in the film. Preethi Asrani is playing the female lead in the film.
‘Balti’ is also a special feature as Tamil music director Sai Abhyankar is making his debut in Malayalam.
