The release date of the film “Detective Ujjwalan”, which introduces a new face in Weekend Blockbusters’ Weekend Cinematic Universe, is out. The film will be released globally on May 16, 2025. The film, which is being made as a comedy investigation thriller, stars Dhyan Sreenivasan and Siju Wilson in the lead roles. The film, written and directed by debutants Indranil Gopikrishnan and Rahul G, is produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters. Detective Ujjwalan is part of the Weekend Cinematic Universe that Weekend Blockbusters started with the film Minnal Murali.

Earlier, the first teaser of the film was released. The teaser gave an indication that the film has been made with equal emphasis on comedy and thrill. While Dhyan Sreenivasan plays the title character in the film, Siju Wilson plays the role of CI Shambhu Mahadev. Dhyan Sreenivasan plays a local detective in the film. Kottayam Nazir, Seema G Nair, Ronnie David, Amin, Nihal Nizam, Nibras Noushad, Shahubas, Kalabhavan Nawaz, Nirmal Palazhi, and Josy Sijo are the other main stars in the film.
