Buoyed by a thrilling opening victory in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2026, the Kerala Strikers addressed the media today at an exclusive press meet held at Crowne Plaza, Kochi. The interaction was conducted to share the team’s excitement over their emphatic 5-wicket win against Mumbai Heroes and to outline their plans for the remainder of the tournament.
The press meet was attended by the Team Captain and Actor Unni Mukundan, CEO Bindu Dijendranath, Vice Captain Bineesh Kodiyeri, Team Coach Sindo M. Michael, and all of whom interacted with the media and reflected on the team’s strong start to the season.

The atmosphere was marked by high spirits and visible joy, with the team expressing happiness over the victory and appreciation for the continued support from fans across Kerala.
Recalling the opening match played at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium, Vizag, on January 18, the team spoke about the intensity of the contest and the composure shown by the squad. After winning the toss and opting to field first, the Kerala Strikers restricted Mumbai Heroes to a competitive total of 191 runs. Captain Unni Mukundan becomes the first-ever CCL captain to win Man Of The Match and the Best Bowler of the match, playing a key role in controlling the opposition innings and setting the foundation for the win.
The successful chase was headlined by a sensational innings from Madan Mohan; Vivek Gopan played a key supporting role while Arjun Nandakumar and Jean Paul made vital contributions to ensure a steady and confident finish. Speaking at the press meet, the leadership emphasised that the victory was the result of teamwork, discipline, and strong on-field chemistry. The team also discussed its approach for the upcoming matches, focusing on consistency, preparation, and carrying forward the positive momentum from the opening win.
Co-owned by actor Mohanlal along with Rajkumar S., Shaji P.M., Jason P., and Mibu Jose, the Kerala Strikers reiterated their vision of representing Kerala’s passion for cinema and cricket on a national platform, positioning the franchise as a premium sportainment brand driven by mass fan engagement.
