The Name Janaki Leads into a Temporary Block in Release of Janaki vs State of Kerala
The Censor Board has blocked the release of ‘JSK- Janaki vs State of Kerala‘, a courtroom thriller directed by Praveen Narayanan and starring superstar Suresh Gopi and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles. The Censor Board has now blocked the release of ‘Jakani vs State of Kerala’ on the basis of the demand that the name Janaki, the character in the film, be changed from the title and character name.
However, the Censor Board has blocked the release of the film at the last moment when the film is scheduled to hit theaters for a global release on June 27. The film, produced by Cosmos Entertainment in association with Karthik Creations, is produced by J. Phaneendra Kumar; Co-producer Sethuraman Nair Kangol. JSK- Janaki vs State of Kerala is also a film that marks the return of Anupama Parameswaran to Malayalam after a long gap.
Apart from Anupama Parameswaran, Divya Pillai and Sruthi Ramachandran also play the female lead roles in the film.
