History is made; Malayalam’s wonder “Lokah” is now an industry hit, Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films is on the cusp of a huge success
267 Cr Collection All Over, Lokha Chapter 1 Chandra Becomes the Industry Hit
Dulquer Salmaan’s seventh film, “Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra“, produced by Wayfarer Films, is the latest industry hit in Malayalam. The film achieved this historic feat by earning a global collection of 267 crores. The film became the all-time record global grosser in Malayalam within 24 days of its release. “Loka” has achieved the highest global collection not only in Malayalam but also in the history of South Indian cinema with a female lead in the title role.

“Lokah”, which told the story in a way that amazed Indian cinema with its stunning visuals, music and performances, has become a shining milestone in the history of Malayalam cinema. The biggest highlight of the film is the quality of making that is reminiscent of international fantasy films. Inspired by the legendary story of Kalliyankattu Neeli, which is a part of Kerala’s history, the fantasy world “Lokah” created by director Dominic Arun has now become a hot topic in Indian cinema. Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen played the lead roles in this big budget film.
The film was not limited to Kerala but also achieved great success in the Rust of India market. The film is only the second Malayalam film to achieve this feat, having grossed over 50 crores at the Rust of India market. The film has collected over 150 crores from India alone. “Lokah” has created a new trend in Malayalam cinema with its making excellence and the style of presentation of the story. The courage shown by producer Dulquer Salmaan in making such a film is also commendable. “Lokah” became a miracle film that happened in Malayalam cinema when the vision of the genius Dominic Arun came before the visionary producer Dulquer Salmaan. The fact that this film also started a huge fantasy cinematic universe with five parts is also a new sight in Malayalam cinema.
Along with Kalyani and Naslen, who gave great performances in the film, the film also stars Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, Sarath Sabha, Nishant Sagar and Vijayaraghavan. The thrilling guest appearances of Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas and the invisible presence of Mammootty as the character Moothon added to the depth, intensity and size of the film. This wonderful film, which achieved pan-Indian success, was brought to Kerala as a big release by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.
