The first look of the big budget film “Kathanar” produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies is out. The first look of the film was released on the occasion of actor Jayasurya’s birthday. Directed by Rojin Thomas, the film is written by R Ramanand. The post-production work of this cosmic film, which is being made into the biggest film in Malayalam, is currently in progress. Baiju Gopalan and VC Praveen are the co-producers of the film. The executive producer is Krishnamurthy.
The first look gives hope that the film will be a cosmic cinematic experience that will take Malayalam cinema to another level. The glimpse video of the film, which was released earlier, has received huge audience appreciation. The first look and glimpse of the film also indicate that Kathanar will become the strongest character in Jayasurya’s career.
The film is based on the stories of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a priest from Kerala who was believed to have supernatural powers. However, the first look also gives an indication that the character of Kathanar has been created in this film in a completely different way from the stories we have been used to hearing and seeing for ages. The one and a half year long shooting of Kathanar was completed in October last year. Kathanar is also a film directed by Rojin Thomas after the National Award-winning film ‘Home’ starring Indrans. This film has been shot using cutting-edge technologies including virtual production.
The film, which stars Jayasurya in the title role, stars Telugu superstar Anushka Shetty, Tamil stars Prabhu Deva, Sandy Master, Kulpreet Yadav, Harish Uthaman, Nitish Bharadwaj (of Njan Gandharvan fame), and Malayalam stars Sanoop Santhosh, Vineeth, Kottayam Ramesh, Devika Sanjay, and Kiran Aravindakshan in other important roles. The film is being released in two parts in more than thirty languages.
