The global release date of “Khalifa”, which is being prepared by Prithviraj-Vaisakh-Jinu Abraham, is out. The film will be released globally on August 20, this year, during Onam. Prithviraj plays the role of Mambarakkal Aamir Ali in this film. Mohanlal will also be making a guest appearance in the film as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali. Mohanlal will be playing the role of Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali in the second part of Khalifa, which will be made in two parts. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who played the lead role in the first part, will also be in the star cast of this second part. The film is being produced by Jinu Abraham and Sooraj Kumar under the banner of Jinu Innovation. Co-producer – Sijo Sebastian.
Prithviraj plays the role of Mambarakkal Aamir Ali, the younger son of Mohanlal’s character Mambarakkal Aamir Ali. In the glimpse video released last year on October 16, Prithviraj Sukumaran‘s birthday, the characters Mambarakkal Aamir Ali and Mambarakkal Aamir Ali are introduced to the audience through the dialogues of the character played by Indrans in the film. This video hints that Khalifa is a big budget entertainer that tells the story on a large canvas against the backdrop of gold smuggling. Bollywood star Neil Nitin Mukesh is also part of the star cast of the film. Khalifa is also Neil’s first film in Malayalam.
The film, which is being made as a mass stylish action thriller, is rich in thrilling chase scenes and action scenes. The tagline of the film is ‘Prathikaram will be written in golden letters’. This film, which reunites Vysakh and Prithviraj after ‘Pokkiri Raja‘, is being shot in various locations in London, Dubai, Kerala and Nepal. This is also the film where the Jinu Abraham – Prithviraj team reunites after films like Adam John, London Bridge, Masters and Kaduva.
