Dulquer Salmaan won the Telangana State Award for the blockbuster Telugu film Lucky Bhaskar, written and directed by Venky Atluri. Dulquer Salmaan won the Special Jury Award for Best Actor for this film. The Telangana State Awards, which are given under the name Gaddar Awards, are now being announced after 14 years. Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Lucky Bhaskar won four of the awards for Telugu films released in 2024. Along with Dulquer winning the Special Jury Award for Best Actor, Lucky Bhaskar also bagged the awards for Third Best Film, Best Editor and Best Screenplay.

While Naveen Nooli won the Best Editor award for this film, Venky Atluri, who is also the director of the film, won the Best Screenplay award. Dulquer Salmaan has raised the pride of Malayalam cinema itself with this huge recognition received by an actor in Malayalam cinema in a foreign language.

Lucky Bhaskar, a pan-Indian blockbuster in theaters, was given an unprecedented reception by the global audience on the digital platform as well. The film was released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. The film, which was released as a pan-Indian release, was brought to theaters in Kerala and the Gulf by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. Apart from the box office performance, Dulquer Salman had won huge audience and critical acclaim for his stellar performance as the title character in the film.

The film, which is a period drama thriller, is set against the backdrop of the infamous scam that took place at the Bombay Stock Exchange in 1992. The film, which stars Meenakshi Chaudhary in the female lead, is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, led by Suryadevara Nagavamshi and Sai Mahajan. The film is presented by Sreekara Studios.
