Chevittorma, the new Malayalam film written and directed by Leo Thaddeus, has been officially selected for the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. The film, starring Dileesh Pothan and Pauly Valsan in the lead roles, will be screened under the Window on Asian Cinema section of the festival scheduled for October.

Chevittorma Heads to Busan Film Festival
Chevittorma has been selected for the Busan International Film Festival, where it will be presented in the Window on Asian Cinema section.
The selection takes Leo Thaddeus’ latest Malayalam film to one of Asia’s prominent international film festival platforms.
The film features Dileesh Pothan and Pauly Valsan in central roles, with its story built around an unusual encounter between two characters.
What is Chevittorma About?
The story revolves around Thresya, a woman who offers final prayers to people on their deathbeds, helping them free themselves from worldly attachments and move towards a peaceful death.
Her encounter with Payammal Varkichan, a wealthy and influential man, forms the central premise of the film.
Through their meeting, Chevittorma develops its narrative around death, human relationships and the final moments of life.

The film is written and directed by Leo Thaddeus, whose previous works include Panthrandu and Lonappante Mamodeesa.
Chevittorma is produced under the banners of Stop Whinging Films, Lovely Frames, Uncombed Buddha and S For Cinemas.
