Find the OTT Release Update About Angammal Tamil Movie, Streaming Started
‘Angammal’, a film based on Perumal Murugan’s ‘Kodithuni’, has been released on OTT. This film also has the distinction of being the first film based on a short story by Perumal Murugan, a noted Tamil historian, poet and writer. Produced by Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films, actor and singer Firoz Rahim and cinematographer Anjoy Samuel under the banner of Enjoy Films and Firoz Movie Station, the film is directed by Vipin Radhakrishnan. This film is a new interpretation of Perumal Murugan’s short story ‘Kodithuni’.
One of the producers, Anjoy Samuel, has also handled the camera of the film. After its release in Tamil Nadu, the film was released in Kerala by Bhavana Studios, a joint venture of Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Shyam Pushkaran. Kodithuni is a very notable short story by Perumal Murugan.
Angammal has been screened at several international film festivals including the last IFFK, and has won the Best Film at the New York Film Festival, the Best Film at the Melbourne Film Festival, and the Best Actress Award. Angammal is a film that has been included in the best Indian films of 2025 in the National Survey.
