The fifth season of the South India’s most popular musical reality Idea Star Singer to find the most talented singer begins this Monday ( August 2nd , 2010) at 8PM.
The new season inaugurated by jury members – music director Sarath, play back singers K.S.Chithra , M.G.Sreekumar & Pop Singer Usha Uthup in the presence of actress Bhama, who heralded the occasion by stumbling the thampuru. This edition will have thirty-nine contestants from across Kerala vying for the top spot. The audition was conducted in all major cities in Kerala and abroad.
Apart from the jury members, prominent personalities from film industry will attend as celebrity guest.
The title winner will receive villa worth Rs. 1 Core.
Asianet is all set to telecast “ Idea Star Singer Season 5 ” on every Monday to Friday, starting from 2nd August 2010 from 8.00 PM to 9.30PM.

Disgusted with Grand Finale
I read a report that Asianet has cheated ISS 4 winner Jobi John. Jobi was supposed to pay a tax of Rs 33 lakhs to acquire the flat he won. As he is unable to pay, Asianet is reported to have cheated Jobi by giving many false promises. Asianet got out of the deal finally and left Jobi at the mercy of the sponsor. Whenever Jobi approached Asianet, he was told that it is no longer their responsibility, and asked him to approach the sponsor. The sponsor offered Jobi a flat in Vytilla instead of the villa, on condition that he did not reveal this to the media, and was shown a flat under construction. When he contacted the sponsors recently, he was told that due to the non-availability of workers, the work has been stalled. It is believed that the tax for the previous winners were paid by the sponsor and Asianet. The value of SMS votes polled by Jobi in the 14 rounds + the grand finale would be enough to pay his taxes.
