September 4, 2026 brings two notable South Indian OTT releases, with Kunchacko Boban’s Unmadham arriving on SonyLIV and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s DC making its digital premiere on Sun NXT. Both films will begin streaming on the same day, giving viewers two very different choices for their weekend watchlist.
While Unmadham is a Malayalam crime thriller starring Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose, DC brings Lokesh Kanagaraj to the screen as a leading actor alongside Wamiqa Gabbi.
| Movie | OTT Platform | Streaming Date | Lead Cast | Languages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unmadham | SonyLIV | September 4, 2026 | Kunchacko Boban, Lijomol Jose | Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada |
| DC | Sun NXT | September 4, 2026 | Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi | Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam |
Unmadham will start streaming on SonyLIV on September 4, 2026. Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose lead the crime thriller, which is directed by Kiran Das and written by Shahi Kabir.
The movie will reach a wider audience through its multilingual OTT release. SonyLIV will offer Unmadham in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
The film is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak through Panorama Studios and T-Series Films.
Along with Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose, the cast includes Siddique, Krishna Prabha, Vishak Nair, Sudheesh, Sabumon Abdusamad and Kottayam Nazeer.
The combination of director Kiran Das and writer Shahi Kabir places Unmadham among the notable Malayalam additions to the September streaming calendar.
With a large supporting cast and five-language digital availability, the September 4 premiere also expands the film beyond its core Malayalam audience.
On the same day as Unmadham, DC will make its OTT debut exclusively on Sun NXT.
The film is particularly notable for featuring filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj as the leading actor. He plays Devadas, while Wamiqa Gabbi appears as Chandra. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy is also part of the cast.
Rather than the crime-thriller treatment of Unmadham, DC places its characters within a world driven by gangster conflict, action, revenge and emotional relationships.
DC brings together Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi as its central pair. The movie is written and directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sun Pictures.
Anirudh has composed the music, while Mukesh G handles the cinematography and G K Prasanna is responsible for editing.
The Sun NXT digital release will also feature Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
September 4 offers viewers two contrasting streaming choices.
Those looking for a Malayalam crime thriller can watch Unmadham on SonyLIV, while viewers interested in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first outing as a leading actor can check out DC on Sun NXT.
Both movies arriving together also make September 4 an important date in the month’s South Indian OTT release calendar.
