Amrita TV’s Specials to Commemorate Republic Day
Amrita TV celebrates Republic Day 2009, with a handful of programes that gird the day from 6 am to 6 pm; inspiring programmes that will bathe one in the warm glow of nationalism.
‘Udayamritham’, Amrita TV’s outdoor breakfast show telecast at 6.30 am has come up with a special episode that will make every patriot proud to be an Indian. Shot against the backdrop of Bharath Matha Mandir, Haridwar and Amar Jawan Jyothi, near India Gate it pays homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty, with special emphasis on the Mumbai terrorist victims and remembers those brave hearts who died in pain, so that others could live in peace.
‘Naam Kanda Keralam’ (The Kerala We Saw) A half hour power-packed feature that coalesces a retrospective analysis of six decades of Post Independent Kerala, it covers epoch making issues that created a furore at the time of implementation and sparks off heated debates even today; 18 prominent personalities from various fields range themselves on either side of these contentious issues and deliver their frank opinions and expert views in this programme positioned at 9.30 am.
‘Uyire’ at 1.30 pm, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, revolves around the themes of love on the one hand and allegiance to one’s nation on the other.
In the Republic Day Special episode, ‘Music Mix’ at 5.30 pm has a judicious compilation of patriotic songs, carefully handpicked from decades of Malayalam films, with numbers ranging from black & white classics to recent favourites, These melodies which set patriotism to music makes our heart resound to the rhythms of nationalism and awakens a sense of fierce pride in one’s home land.
