Varied, Rich & Fresh is the spread of the ACV feast of programmes during the festival season of Onam this year. A lavish menu of new programmes, talk shows, interviews, music, movies & events has been laid out from September 1st to September 12th Jagathy Sreekumar, the most popular actor in the Comedy genre in the Malayalam film industry is the official torch-bearer for ACV during this Onam.

The theme for the season is ‘Chingam Chiriyude Pookaalam’ which in Malayalam means Laughter during the festive season of Chingam, the Malayalam month when the festival Onam is celebrated. The highlight of the season is a major event, Indradhanush at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium, Trivandrum in celebration of the Onam festivities in association with Tourism Department of the Government of Kerala on September 10th at 6.30 PM.

Veteran actor, popular for his comedian roles, Jagathy Sreekumar, will be honoured for his invaluable contribution to the film industry at the function. A pot-pouri of entertainment events will embellish the evening; includes Music rendered by Playback singers Sujatha Mohan, Sreenivas, Sudeep, Lakshmy Jayan, Sangeetha Prabhu & Sherdhin accompanied by a 24 piece orchestra, Comedy entertainment by Kottayam Nazeer & party and sizzling dance by the Thandav Group. The event will be aired Live on ACV.

Manassile Manimuthukal, chat show with playback singers from the Malayalam film industry from Sep 1st to 11th at 9:30 am. The artistes featured are Sreenivas, Sheela Mani, Jyotsna, Vidhu Prathap, Gayathri, Madhu Balakrishnan, Unni Menon, Vijay Yesudas, Anuradha Sreeram and Biju Narayanan. Nayakan, tete-a-tete with Film actors from Sept 1st to 11th featuring Stars from the Malayalam industry Prithviraj, Lal,Vineeth Sreenivasan & Asif Ali,Tamil film actors Vikram,Bharath,Parthiban,Nassar, Bhagyaraj,Sreekanth& Bollywood actor Anupam Kher who stars in Pranayam, the latest Mohanlal film.

The show labeled, Nayika, is interview sessions with leading Female actors such as Jayaprada, the MP who co-stars with Mohanlal in Pranayam & other actresses like Karthika, Remya Nambeesan, Mythili, Amala Paul, Sabitha, Muktha, Bhama & Jyothirmayi from Sep 1st to 11th. Onathoni, Conversation with Celebrities, on a country-boat cruise,featuring celebrities from different walks of life as lyricist Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma,Actress Mallika Sukumaran,Kerala’s youngest & lone Woman Minister P.K.Jayalekshmi,Dancer Kalamandalam Kshemavathy,Writer K.R.Meera, Poet-Lyricist Murugan Kattakkada,Film-maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan,Music Director M.Jayachandran,Actor Jagadeesh & Playback Singer Sujatha Mohan.

In conversation with Superstar Mohanlal & his friends, Director Priyadarsan, Producer Ashok Kumar & Producer Suresh Kumar is the Thiruonam special programme, Priyapetta Lal on September 9th at 12 noon. Documentaries to be aired will be a mix of programmes featuring Nilambur Kovilakom, the local rulers of the erstwhile royal family of Zamorins of Kozhikode, Payyans Chirikkumbol, a documentary on VKN (Vadakkke Koottala Narayanankutty Nair) a satirist of par excellence of Malayalam literature. Kattilekkulla Vazhi, a documentary on Cholanaykkar, the sole inhabitants of Nilambur forests, Naari Nadichaal, a documentary on Chavara Parukutty of Kathakali fame; documenting her fifty years of artistic career, Izhakal, a documentary based on the life of the traditional weavers during Onam season.

An interesting series will be on how a film develops. The show christened, Oru Kadha Janikkunnu will feature script writers who describe how a storyline for a movie was conceived, developed & made into a film eventually. Featured script-writers are S.N.Swamy, John Paul, Priyanandan, Aryadan Shoukath, T.A.Razakh, R.Sukumaran, Madhu Muttam, Bobby Sanjay, Cheriyan Kalpakavadi & Babu Janardhanan. On air from Sept 1st to12th at 9.00 AM

Ruchibhedham, a cookery show will feature the choicest dishes made during the Onam season. Celebrity artistes such as Mithra Kurian, KPAC Lalitha, Kavitha Nair, Sajitha Beti, Reshmi Boban, Dhanya Mary Verghese, Kalpana, Urmila Unni & Reena Basheer will don the cook’s apron for the show to be aired from Sept 1st to 11th at 5.00 PM.

Panchaleham, a documentary-series on some of the delicious and well-known dishes specific to a particular region in Kerala will be aired from September 6th to 10th at 9.00 AM. The origin, preparation & popularity of culinary items such as Ambalapuzha Paalppayasam, Marayoor Sharkkara, Thendu, Ottayappam and Kalathappam will be presented in this 5-episode show.

Day out with celebrities and their families is the programme, Kudumbasametham, from Sept 7th to 12th at 11.30 AM. Featured celebrities include Actor Bala, Film Directors Vinayan, Jayaraj, Vaisakhand Saji Surendran.

Special interview sessions with senior artistes from the Mollywood industry is also a feature from Sept 8th to 11th at 1.00 PM.Veteran actors Thilakan,Mala Aravindan, Mammukoya,Kunjan, Kochu Preman & Film Directors Priyadarsan & Blessy talk about their career & films in the tete-a-tetes.

Film personalities, Sibi Malayil and J. Pallassery remember the Life & Times of late Lohitadas, Script-writer & Film Director, in the special one-hour programme, Ormayile Lohi on Sept 8th at10:30 AM.

A day with the acclaimed writer M.Mukundan on the banks of the River Mayyazhi is the programme, Velliyamkallile Thumbikal. The writer, one of the pioneers of modernity in Malayalam literature speaks about his literary style, works & influences in this programme on Sep 9th at 11.30 AM

A music concert in tribute to the recently deceased Music composer Johnson Master will be aired on September 11th at 11.00 AM

An analysis of the films crafted by the true auteur, Padmarajan by Film Director,Renjith is the special show, Padmaragam Pakiya Vazhi. The show will be aired in a 5-part series from September 6th at 7.30 PM till September 10th

The making of the famed Onasadya is the cookery show, Thooshanilayum Thumbapoochorum on September 8th at 12 noon.
