Vidhu Prathap’s Trivandrum Royals and George Peter’s Cochin Warriors are the finalists on the show.
Kochi, October 13, 2010: Saibaba Telefilms Pvt Ltd, the television production house known for pioneering the concept of music reality shows in India, announces the Grand Finale of Kerala’s biggest talent hunt show – Sangeeta Mahayuddham. It will be telecast on Surya TV on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 8.30pm onwards. The top two teams in the finals, Trivandrum Royals and Cochin Warriors will battle it out for the final victory. The winning team will take home the Trophy of the Sangeeta Mahayuddham Champion.
The show brought together six well known music directors & singers – Unni Menon, Chitra Iyer, George Peter, Manjari, Sayanore and Vidhu Prathap – as Captains on the same platform for the first time in the history of reality television in the South. Thousands of contestants from Kottayam, Calicut, Trivandrum and Kochi showcased their singing skills to be a part of this uniquely formatted show. Hosted by popular actress Poornima Indrajith, Sangeeta Mahayuddham introduced a new format in music reality shows in India based on teams rather than individuals, an exhilarating breath of fresh air in the increasingly “seen-it-all” realm of reality TV.
The much awaited Grand Finale is set to be judged by a very special jury consisting of eminent personalities from the South music industry, Vani Jayaram and Anuradha Sriram. The final scores will be based on the consolidated scores given by the judges and audience.
Trivandrum Royals is led by the versatile and talented playback singer Vidhu Prathap. This multi-award winning singer has sung for more than 200 movies and 600 albums. He regularly sings for All India Radio, Doordarshan and other private channels. He leads his team members, Nithin Raj, Sajin Jayaraj and Poornashree in the final battle.
Multi-talented and popular singer George Peter leads the Cochin Warriors team. Being in the music industry for nearly 22 years now, this singer, lyricist and music director has more than 2000 concerts to his credit including A R Rahman and other international artists too. He leads Yasin, Arun Naik and Keerthana in the fight for victory this Sunday.
Produced on an unprecedented scale by Saibaba Telefilms, the show in the Grand Finale hunts for the best music talent in the South to pick up the Sangeeta Mahayuddham Trophy.
