The grand finale of Idea Star Singer Season 4 was held live on 1st August 2010 at Chandrasekharan Nair stadium , Thiruvananthapuram. Several prominent persons from the film industry and socio- cultural spheres were present on the occasion.
Joby John from Kozhicode was declared winner of Idea Star Singer Season 4 , Sreenath from Palakkadu is the first runner-up, Preethi Warrier from Mumbai was declared second runner-up & last but not the least, Anju Joseph from Kottayam and Vidya Shankar from Chennai secured the third & fourth runners-up spot respectively in the grand finale.
Idea Star Singer Season 4 winner Joby John received villa worth Rs.1 crore sponsored by Travancore Builders ,first runner-up Sreenath received Rs.10 lakhs of Gold sponsored by Josco , Second runner up Preethi Warrier got Rs. 5 lakhs and fourth & firth runners-up Anju Joseph and Vidhya Shankar. received Rs.2 lakhs and 1 lakhs respectively
The winners were selected by eminent jury comprised South India’s most Popular play back singer S.P.balasubramaniam ,Playback singers K.S.Chithra and M.G.Sreekumar and music director Sarath.

I am not a fan of Idea Star Singer or any other similar programs on TV, though I like music. However, I came to watch the grand finale program from the middle and based on my sensibility and sense, I would say that Joby John sung much better than the other guy, speciality the last song. The song sung by the other guy, ‘Sumuhurthamayi went flop and it was undoubtedly clear that he cannot sing such songs. Also, he was over confident as well as a person with lot of pride,which are not good for any aspiring person.

I hope Idea Star Singer requires talent in music,acting, mimicry, stage presence, personality and mass appeal.That makes the person a ” Star Singer”. Eg.Ms Usha Utup is a ” Star Singer” and Ms. Chitra is a ” Singer”. If only music has to be judged,why did all these poor singers make a fool of themselves acting like beggers ,lepers or idiots on the show! What were they judging? I respect all the singers and congratulations to all those who participated and the declared winners! ISS is a place where you can assess what you want to do with the talent of music in you, that is all. Be the crowd puller with high music quality like Usha Utup or be a heart melter like Chitra!

Basically its the problem for all reality shows. All channels are not doing any big revolution to music industry or any other industry trying to find out talents and bringing them to public. They wanted to keep more viewership for their channels and thus get more ads and eventullay money. Also who said 1-crore worth villa is worth 1 crore? I even doubt if it’s half of that price. Coming to choosing the winner, even Asianet knows who deserves the price and who does not..But when you look this via business perspective, there will be confusion about whom should they select to make more revenue for the channel. Everybody will tell philosophy on paper, but when its coming to reality on personal matter, we always go for safer choice… Thats same thing Asianet did..

Ranjinis Tone like a politician in Kerala, demanding to paise!. poor presentation like a firday eveing class room dramas and songs. The most deserving singers not recived the price accordingly. it is a polish selfish projection. I feel it is hard to comprehend the right feeling of the talent show. As Nathan said it is clear that Joby came on first place only becoz of Sympathy Basis…Till last round Sreenath performed too well comparatively JOBY. While introducing Joby to public unknowingly or by mistake Anchor give a hint that everybody knows how Joby came up to such a stage from his situation. At that time itself we were sure that crown will go to JOby.
We have a request to Mr. Madhavan as well as Mr. Sreekandan Nair to change the existing great disparity among the first & Second prizes since all know that in final stage (OF SEASON 5) even if some unirness will happen in judgement it will not give a mental hurt to the second and third position candidates…

joby doesnt deserve a final berth. even in the finals the judges would have been forced to give joby good marks bcause anyway he will win purely on sms, so the goodmarks was a face saving exercise. the anger on sreenath’s face said it all. cheating the public and killing real talents

May be you are a Sreenath fan,it is your choice. But Sreenath and Joby are two different talented people…One is good in singing(Joby), the other is good in Mimicry(Sreenath). I am not a fan of neither one, but the truth is that Sreenath cant able to sing like Joby. Sreenath came to finals because of MG and Sarath, who always give him higher marks even though they commented his songs in so many mistakes. In Joby’s case, judges makes comments with less mistakes and give him low marks. Also you have to realize that MG had some hidden agenda about Sreenath, Rahul, Vidya and Nayana(his upcoming movies).As a judge he shoudlnt do that, but it is his choice. Also in finals, Joby sang outstandingly well compared to Sreenath. It is the fact. If SP or Chitra werent there, even if joby sang very well, Sreenath wins defenitely(we know the politics).SO SREENATH CANT COMPETE WITH JOBY….IT IS THE FACT THAT WE ALL KNOWS…MAY BE YOU ARE NOT…MILLIONS OF MUSIC LOVERS KNOWS THAT JOBY SHOULD BE THE WINNER

Hi Joby You really deserve the first prize. From the first episode itself, you are the only one who sang outstandingly well. Of course towards last few episodes, you had some problem. But that does not matter at all.e Shikha and Nayana were just after you, but unfortunately they got out. Nayana should have been in the final. All others who were in the final were just above average.
