Asianet lines up special shows for Onam festival

Asianet will air special programmes during the Onam festival across its three channels – Malayalam general entertainment channel Asianet, Malayalam news channel Asianet News and Malayalam youth entertainment channel Asianet Plus.

The two-week Onam special programming will have interviews, films, special programmes and music-based shows.

Commencing on 2 September (Atham day), it will continue till 14 September (Chathayam day).

During this period, Asianet will air films like Classmates (Prithvi Raj , Kavya Madhavan ) and Prajapathi (Mammootty , Siddique), Keerthi Chakra (Mohan Lal, Gopika, Jeeva, Lakshmi Gopalaswami), Balram Vs Tharadas (Mammootty, Kunchako Boban, Katrina Kaif), Anachantham (Jayaram, Remya Nambeesan), Chess (Dilip, Bhavana ), Thuruppugulan (Mammootty , Sneha), and Mahasamudram(Mohan Lal, Laila).

In addition, the channel has a close-up of south Indian actress Navya Nair, Navyame Sallapom, Special Adhithi, in which actress Kalpana will visit poor homes with Onam gifts, musical chat show Super star Mohan Lal with Idea Star singers 2007, and stage show Ponnonam 2008.

Among other shows on the channel are: Onam with Kalabhavan Mani, Onathinidayil Puttukachavadam, interview with Mammootty, musical fusion Me Music Magic, Jagathiyile Ambilikala, Angeekarathinte Niravil, Sasneham Sneha, and stage show Onanilavu 2008.

Viewers will get to see traditional Onam feast from Atham ( 2 September) to Chathayam (14 September).

On Asianet News, in addition to the usual programmes, there will be live coverage of the Athachamayam in Thripunithura. The special programmes for the festival include Onam celebrations in different regions of Kerala, poems on Onam, Onakalikal and Maveli Vartha, among others.

Asianet Plus will air interviews with Meena, Sona, Mohini and Rasika. The programming will also consist of comedy shows Onam de Pinneyum Vannu, music programme Pranamam, Sundarikalude Onam, and 300 day celebrations of Crazy TV, among others.
